Journeying with people in hope, love and support...

The John Wallis Foundation continues the work of the Missionary Sisters of Service supporting people and communities experiencing hardship and disadvantage.

We are inspired by a world which demonstrates compassion, justice and love in equal measure to all.

The Foundation runs an annual Small Grants Program, a series of inspiring speakers events, and other activities to strengthen community relationships.

The Foundation is named in honour of Father John Wallis, founder of the Missionary Sisters of Service.

For close on seventy years, generous people have enabled the Missionary Sisters of Service to go into the highways and byways of Australia and beyond. With their support the Sisters have sought out people wherever they are, with particular care about those on the margins of society – geographically, socially, culturally or religion. Their mission continues to call them to be “good news to the poor, to bring liberty to captives, sight to the blind and to set free the downtrodden” (Luke 4:18) with a care for the Earth and all living beings.

Today the John Wallis Foundation furthers the outreach of the Missionary Sisters of Service during and beyond the life of the congregation. You can be part of this mission by contributing in various ways:

  • Prayer: For the mission of the Foundation and for people “on the margins”.
